In Galatians 1:1, Paul describes himself as an apostle appointed by “Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.” Consider the contrast here. Paul was a persecutor of the church. There was a time he would drag people from synagogues for no greater crime than making this same confession. Acts records him imprisoning men and women, and Paul himself says that he cast his vote against them, even when executed (Acts 26:10).
